Itinerary -
Founded in 1862, Trinidad is a paradise for architecture buffs and art lovers. Spend the morning strolling through our Creative District—El Córazon de Trinidad. Feel like a time traveler as you marvel through blocks of historic adobe and brick buildings. Buildings of note to scope: Trinidad’s City Hall, the Bloom House Mansion (take a pit stop here to check out the mansion and other offerings at the Trinidad History Museum), the Fox West Theatre, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and the First National Bank.
Keep the art walk going by popping into the A.R. Mitchell Museum of Western Art. Housed in the 1096-built historic Jamieson’s Department Store, note the horseshoe-shaped mezzanine and pressed tin ceilings before viewing the iconic work of the King of Western Pulp Illustrations, Arthur Roy Mitchell, as well as other artists.
Continue soaking up the creative Trinidad vibes with a visit to Space to Create. Through this state-sponsored initiative, creatives in rural Colorado gain access to affordable housing. Head inside to unwind in the seating area and enjoy the artwork on display.
This evening, treat yourself to captivating live entertainment at Main Street LIVE. It’ll be the perfect ending to an art-fueled day!
