The City of Trinidad Tourism Department oversees the development, management, and promotion of tourism for Trinidad. Primary functions for the department include operating the Trinidad Welcome Center and managing visittrinidadcolorado.com.

Funding for tourism is provided through a portion of the 3% City of Trinidad lodging tax that is administered by the city. With these dollars the city supports projects and campaigns to improve the Trinidad visitor experience and resident quality of life while preserving its unique cultural heritage and natural environment.

A Lodging Tax Advisory Board meets regularly to provide input on the city’s investments for:

35% - sustainable tourism marketing, including advertising and attracting conferences, conventions, capital expenditures, and meetings

30% - for maintenance, improvement, and development of recreation facilities and programs

10% - to support art and cultural events, programs, and facilities

20% - personnel and expenses related to tourism including, but not limited to, the welcome center and a CVB

5% - for any of the above purposes or other purposes related to the impacts of tourism

The City of Trinidad maintains various resources and programs to support tourism businesses and organizations, promote visitor experiences, and guide visitors to explore unique and authentic Trinidad experiences safely and responsibly. Tourism businesses and organizations are invited to explore the following resources and services provided by the city.
