Colorado Coalfield War

After years of dangerous conditions and low pay, tensions between the United Mine Workers of America and the Rockefeller-owned Colorado Fuel & Iron reached a boiling point. In response to their ignored demands, nearly 10,000 colliers went on strike starting in September 1913. The next 15 months would define workers’ rights.
