Jewish merchant brothers Sam, Sol, and Henry Jaffa opened the city’s first opera house in 1882. It rapidly became a spot for new and enhanced entertainment on the Colorado frontier.
Though the building’s integrity has been compromised over time, the exterior still displays southwest Native American-inspired stonework.
