Temple Aaron, one of the oldest synagogues in the Mountain West, has long served as a spiritual and cultural anchor for generations of Jewish immigrants.
Jewish settlers began arriving in Trinidad in the 1870s. The diverse community practiced religious tolerance, and over time, Jewish Trinidadians became prosperous business and civic leaders. In response to the growing population, the synagogue was completed in 1889.
Throughout its history, Temple Aaron has welcomed residents and visitors alike. It continues to serve individuals across Colorado’s Front Range and northern New Mexico.
Designed by architects Bulger & Rapp in the Moorish Revival style, the synagogue features an onion dome, minarets, and brightly colored stained glass. In 2023, it was designated a National Historic Landmark.
