Colorado’s first state park has two lakes for swimming, waterskiing, fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing.

Because of Lathrop’s location between the foothills and plains, the lakes’ water is often warmer than most mountain lakes and reservoirs, averaging 75°F in the summer.

The park also offers an archery range, a golf course, and two main trails for biking, horseback riding, and hiking. These trails show off exceptional views of the Spanish Peaks, Greenhorn Mountain, and Pikes Peak.

There are two on-site campgrounds with primitive camping and full hook-ups for RVs and trailers.
