Greet the day in true Trinidad fashion by taking your pup on a scenic hike at Trinidad Lake State Park. While you absorb the tranquil surroundings and your best friend picks up some new scent, you’ll both benefit from the fresh air, exercise, and time together.

Hit the Riverwalk

Keep your dog engaged with exercise on the Riverwalk, which follows the calming Purgatoire River for 3.5 miles through Trinidad. Along the Riverwalk, near City Hall, check out the historic Steam Engine 638.

Highway of Legends Sunset Drive

After all that outdoor activity, hop in your ride and take a sunset drive on the Highway of Legends National Scenic Byway. Let your pup rest while you pass through the inspiring mountainous landscape dotted with unreal geological formations. Along the way, take advantage of pet-friendly stops such as Trinidad Lake, Monument Lake, North Lake, hiking trails (North Fork Purgatoire, Spring Creek) and Dog Bar in Cuchara.
